The Democratic Republic of the Congo had been suffering from imperial rule, cruelty to the natives, and secret underground societies for years, much like other African Countries. The DRC is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, Congo, Zambia, Burundi, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and Sudan.
The DRC is the 17th most populated country in the world, as well as the 4th highest population on the Continent of Africa. The population is 68,692,542 and has a growth rate of 3.2% (as of November 5th.)
The President of the DRC (as of 2001) is Joseph Kabila, the Prime minister (as of 2008) is Adolphe Muzito.
The land area of the DRC is 875,520 sq mi (2,267,599 sq km) and the total area is 905,568 sq mi (2,345,410 sq km.)
The DRC had been in most of Africa's conflicts. Millions of the indigenous people have been killed either by direct killing or by disease or malnutrition because of these wars. The Prime Minister (Patrice Lumumba) had been killed in 1961 by Chief Joesph Mobutu, who had taken power by force. He renamed the Country Zaire (it was changed into DRC in 1997.)
The Prime Minister (as of 2008) of the DRC Adolphe Muzito.
